Public Patientsí Rights and Responsibilities
All citizens of Australia have a fundamental right to health care that is respectful, responsive, safe and effective. Likewise, everyone has an obligation to treat staff and other patients with respect and to provide his/her health practitioner with all relevant health information.
Public patient rights and obligations are governed by the Public Patients’ Hospital Charter of Rights and Responsibilities.
