Podiatry
The primary aim of the Podiatry Service at Osborne Park Hospital (OPH) is the prevention and treatment of foot ulceration in the medium to high-risk population. The department also provides assessment and management of paediatric foot disorders.
Services Provided
The Podiatry Service provides a range of podiatry services to inpatients and outpatients.
Our emphasis is placed on the early identification and long term management of "at risk" feet.
Our services include:
- Diabetic Foot Management
- Biomechanical Assessment
- Orthotic and Insole Therapy
- Footwear Assessment
- Nail Surgery
- Walking Analysis
- Foot Ulcer Management
- Children's Foot and Gait Assessment
Referrals
Outpatient consultations are available to patients with a written referral from their GP and who live within the podiatry department's catchment area. There is a strict intake criteria for outpatient referrals. For more information on this policy please contact the department on the number below.
Inpatient referrals are accepted from hospital medical staff at OPH. Referrals must be made in writing to the podiatry department. Priority will be given to inpatients with conditions that effect their immediate foot health. Routine foot care is only available to long term inpatients.
