Mental Health Services on OPH Campus

Osborne Park Hospital campus is home to Osborne Community Mental Health Service (Osborne Clinic) and Osborne Park Older Adult Mental Health Service which are part of a network of public mental health services throughout the north metropolitan area. To get to these services via public transport, take the train or bus No. 434 from Stirling station or bus 435 from Warwick Station. The nearest major road is Karrinyup Road (half a kilometre away). Car parking is available at the hospital.

Hours open: 8.30 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday.

Services Provided:

• Outpatient assessment and treatment
• Individual, group, couple and family therapy

Staff include psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists and psychiatric nurses.

Programs Available:

• Rehabilitation Programs
• Counselling and Group work

We can help with:

• Adults, ages 18 - 65 years.
• Psychiatric disorders.

A full range of occupational therapy groups are available for clients attending the clinic.

We cannot help with:

• Alcohol and drug addiction.
• Marital problems.

Referral Process: Referrals from GPs, hospitals and other agencies. Self referral is accepted. Please ring the Duty Officer on 9346 8350 for an appointment. The waiting period is variable.

Osborne Park Older Adult Mental Health is a specialised service for people who are 65 years or over, reside in the Osborne Park catchment area (PDF, 83Kb) and have a mental health disorder or are experiencing difficulties related to dementia, e.g. severe behavioural problems that cannot be managed by other services or family.

Those people who meet the referral (PDF) criteria are usually assessed in their own home by members of the multidisciplinary team. Once individuals' needs are identified by the team they may be referred to one or more of the following older adult mental health programs:

• community support
• outpatient appointments
• day therapy
• carer support
• admission to the Acute Admission Unit.

The 24 Bed Acute Admission Unit is for clients requiring mental health assessment, management and stabilisation.

Referral Process: Written referrals from general practitioners or mental health professionals should be addressed to the Duty Officer of the day.
